Usually, I let our other tumblrs mention the events that I speak at, and next week’s Frederator BAM retrospective is no exception. But then I asked the event organizer, Casey Safon of Animation Block Party, who illustrated the flattering poster. He told me that it was Isam Prado (a hat tip, kind sir), and mentioned they were inspired by Victor Morosco's psychedelic poster for the The Chambers Brothers' 1967 show at The Matrix in San Francisco.
Well, there was no way Casey and Isam had any idea that to me, the brothers’ album “Time Has Come,” is one of the great redefinitions of R&B in the rock album era. A true under discovered record (yes, the hit has been overplayed enough to make one sick of it –fine pop artifact that it is– but really, listen to the rest, it’s awesome).
fuck all yall bitches
